Atlas Is Five

My pride and joy, Atlas, is five today. It’s not far from the truth to say every moment I’m not being paid to think about something else, I’m thinking of him. His first smile, his first words, his first jokes, rocking him to sleep, singing him to sleep, talking him to sleep, teaching him and seeing him come of age to teach me. He’s an incredible person and we and the world are lucky to have him. Although there’s no denying the differences over five years, he’s always felt like my little boy and I cannot imagine boring of being there for him for a moment through any of it. Still, it pains me to think this version of him won’t be there to throw in the air, cuddle to sleep, or impress quite so easily in another five. I’m so looking forward to watching him impress me over and over again, yet I want nothing to ever change. Atlas, you are amazing.
