Last Friday with Nisga'a Lisims Government

For those that haven’t heard, tomorrow is my very last Friday with Nisga’a Lisims Government, with the last Monday-Thursday to follow next week. I started long ago, on March 9, 2009. I’ve learned a lot, fixed a lot and created a lot there, but there’s still so much left to do. They plan to replace me with two staff, enough to start pulling ahead on a few of my outstanding projects, while I start with a clean slate as the IT manager at Nechako construction in Terrace. Although I won’t be getting a second IT person to assist, I will be dealing with about half the staff, so I should have more time to invest in projects too, and I will get to dodge the treacherous and expensive winter commute up the Nass highway every day. I think it’s a neutral move as far as my career goes, but it will save me time and money, and so I look forward to it!
